Snowy Day Brownies
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup cold butter or margarine
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 can (14 ounce) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 bar (7 ounce) milk chocolate in small chunks
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 3/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup of the flour and the sugar.
- Cut in the margarine/butter or until crumbly.
- Press the mixture into the bottom of a 10x10 baking pan.
- Bake 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in a large mixing bowl, beat the sweetened condensed milk, the cocoa, the egg, the remaining flour, the vanilla, the baking powder. Stir in the nuts (optional) and chocolate chunks.
- Spread over the prepared crust. Bake an additional 20 minutes.
- Cool.
- Sprinkle with confectioners sugar if desired. ENJOY!
